About the Property

2 BR/1 BA + enclosed bunk room/sun porch.....Original cabin built by the Scandinavian Tiehacks in the early 1940's during the timber/logging operations for the early railroads. It is one of the few in the area with indoor plumbing and electricity (the original outhouse is still outside). It has been updated with modern conveniences and all the comforts of home. The kitchen still has the original cast iron/wood cookstove (along with a newer gas stove for your convenience). The river rock fireplace in the center of the cabin was built with local materials and even has a piece of petrified wood. The large deck is perfect for grilling fresh caught trout in the stream that runs along the side of the cabin or 2 miles up the road in Brooks Lake. There are 2 queen bedrooms, a sun porch with 2 twins and a double sleeper sofa in the den to accommodate up to 8. Enjoy wildlife sightings - not a day goes by that we don't see moose, elk, deer or a bear. Enjoy s'mores around the campfire by the stream (but make sure to douse it with buckets of water before retiring for the evening). The cabin is located inside the Shoshone National Forest (the nation's 1st national forest) so grab your trail maps and explore the hundreds of miles of trails by foot, XC skis, snowshoe, atv, snowmobile or auto. Always carry your fishing rod/tackle when you can as there are hundreds of hidden mountain lakes just waiting for you to wet your hook. Firewood is stacked for your use (try your hand at rustic living by splitting more to replace what you use.....many thanks!) This cabin is only available a few weeks each year as allowed by the National Forest Regulations, so inquire early and be one of the select few to enjoy it!!

Check out is at 10am SHARP. Guests remaining after that will be charged for an additional night which will be withheld from the refundable $1,000.00 security deposit, with the balance returned to the guest post-stay pending departure inspection by management.

Our Montana reservations had to be changed at the last minute due to the fires that were going on there. Fortunately we were able to stay here instead. WOW....this is one beautifully restored cabin deep in the Shoshone National Forest. If we had to get snowed in......this was the place to have it happen.......no complaining.......everything we needed was right here. The beds were SOOO comfortable, and there were so many books, games and movies to choose from that there was no reason to be bored. The stone fireplace is gorgeous(and warm), and we enjoyed seeing Murphy the resident moose. We also enjoyed the fishing there in the stream as well as the lake up the road. The surrounding area is absolutely breathtaking. Ree was available to answer any question we had and made us feel like family. My only regret is that we live too far away to be able to make this an annual vacation spot. Batteries recharged!!!

This cabin and it’s location are just amazing! I loved the sun porch, (which is where I slept) with the windows cracked open the night sounds and sweet air was oh so pleasant. Laying in bed and being able to see the night sky filled with so many stars was inspiring. Loved seeing the elk, deer and the mama moose with her babies, from the comfort of the cabin. The cabin was clean, comfortable and cozy! The owners are awesome people and they were very, very accommodating.

My wife, 7 yr. old son and I all had a wonderful time during our stay at Bearitage. We were able to recharge our personal batteries and enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Wyoming. The cabin was well appointed and was a nature's paradise. We watched Moose and Mule Deer from the cabin along with many birds and Ground Squirrels. We spent some entire days at the cabin but also found it very convenient for taking day trips to Dubois, Thermopolis, Jackson, Yellowstone and the Tetons. We would highly recommend this cabin to all ages!

This cabin is absolutely beautiful. It is well kept, quaint, and clean. The reservation process was so easy and the owners are very helpful. The location is so peaceful and private, yet still close to everything you need in town. It is right down the road to many hiking trails and the lake...all with gorgeous views. The cabin is also well stocked and comfortable...it has everything you need!

We came to Wyoming to get away and relax. We wanted to go somewhere different as we have been to Wyoming around 7 times. Wow, Dubois is a small town that is not like your typical tourist towns. This cabin met our needs in so many ways. Off the beating path, animals all around and all the things you would need to have including a full kitchen. Ree the owner & Jessica inside the office, went out of there way to meet our needs. They were great. Hope to be back next year for snowmobiling. Becky & Joey Tennessee

The cabin was wonderful!, it was a perfect fit for our family. We enjoyed the area and the wildlife around us daily. We had deer and elk everyday. One day we saw a moose down the road. We did see bear tracks but we didn't see any bear around the cabin. The location was perfect, we spent time in Dubios, Yellowston and the Tetons. It was an amazing week all together!

This cabin was perfect for our family of 6 and in a beautiful, quiet area. We were able to sit on the patio and enjoy the birds and deer who frequent the creek and saw two moose on our evening walk. The location was perfect - close enough to Dubois and the NPs, yet far enough away to provide the peace and quiet we were seeking. The cabin itself was wonderful - well equipped yet rustic, with a lot of character and history. Would definitely go back!

Bearadise cabin was in a secluded location.Close to the cute lil town of Dubois.About and hour or so to Jackson.Saw alot of wildlife, including Grizzlies and moose on the drive there and back each night.A gorgeous deer greeted us every morning and afternoon. The interior of the cabin was very warm and cozy and the pictures on this site do not do it justice.the decor was gorgeous and the bedding was heavenly. So many small touches to make it seem homey. My husband and son enjoyed chopping the wood and making a fire in the beautiful fireplace. The only thing it was missing was a kitchen table to eat at.The deck was nice to hang out ,but make sure to bring bug spray.I would highly recommend staying here if you want to get away from the hustle of Jackson.Driving away today,it made me sad to say good bye.

This is a very comfortable relaxing cabin which we enjoyed tremendously. The fireplace was wonderful on the cold mornings and evenings. The days were just gorgeous for walking and exploring. Would recommend this vacation cabin if you are looking for a more remote relaxing week.

Great cabin for our fall visit to Wyoming - moose, antelope, elk, deer and more. Loved it - hope to be back some day.
